Activities in Panama City Beach and Panama City

What we love about Panama City Beach is the activities available for everyone.  There are several publications available when you check in that can give you some tips and discounts to the local attractions for Panama City Beach, Florida. 

After visiting Panama City Beach over the past 20 years, we have also developed our own favorite activities.

Pontoon Boat Rental.   A must do on our list...  There is nothing like seeing things from the water.  We love to cruise up by the jetties, look for dolphins and snokel at various locations on the bay side of the island.  We have had wonderful experiences with the dolphins and if your lucky they will come visit as you cruise the bay.  We recommend half day trips that start in the morning during the summer.  It is not so hot in the morning and we generally see more dolphins feeding early morning.

The kids will love the amusement and water parks.  Minature Golf is always great family fun.  And don't forget the go karts during the evening.

Here are our recommendations for great places to eat: 

Uncle Ernies -in Panama City on the bay at St Andrew's Marina, this has become another favorites for lunch.  They have great lunch specials, usually involves some form of Grouper and one of the best hamburgers ever. 

J'Michaels - just a short drive up the road.  This is a local lunch and casual dinner favorite.  Everything is great, just do not miss the "no name pie". They have great specials each day during the week. Check them out at the beginning of the week to take advantage of your favorites. 

Captain Anderson's - THIS IS THE PLACE FOR DINNER.  Get there early, because it is everyone else's favorit place as well and it gets very busy.  If you show up at opening, you can get a table by the windows and watch the fishing boats unload.

Schooner's - now back on our list, this is a great beach front restaurant. Casual and open air it is one of our favorite lunch spots and sunset dinners. The grouper sandwich and hamburger are a couple of our favorites.

One other  suggestion for dinner... PCB is the place for fresh seafood so be sure and plan several dinners in... Get some FRESH shrimp or fish, and enjoy some great seafood at home.  The condo has a fully equipped kitchen so cooking is easy.  Plan dinner at sunset, set up the table on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful sunset while having dinner.  

Our favorite place to buy fresh shrimp and seafood is Cardenas on Thomas Drive.  They will steam the shrimp for you for no extra charge.

Fishing - Panama City Beach is home to some of the best fishing. We recommend light tackle fishing near shore with Captain Buckey of Cast-A-Way charters.  Or if you like to go off shore there are many great charter trips available.
